A father-and-sons fitting shop one block from the Riverwalk. We measure you, watch you swing, and build or adjust what you actually need. Nobody gets pushed toward a sale.
Harlan Gray spent twenty-six years as a toolmaker before he turned his garage hobby into a business. He started by regripping neighbors' clubs in 1989 and opened the Washington Street shop five years later. The bench he built then is still the one Dennis works at today.
Walt joined in 1998 after a few seasons as an assistant pro, and he now runs most of the fittings. Priya Raman came on as an apprentice in 2019 and has taken over the putter work. Between the four of us we have fitted a few thousand golfers, and a surprising number of them are children of golfers we fitted in the nineties.
We keep the shop small on purpose. You get an hour or more with one fitter and a launch monitor, and you leave with numbers written on paper you can take anywhere, including to a competitor.
Four fitting sessions, a repair bench, and a short list of things we will happily tell you not to buy.

Ten minutes on how you play, what the misses look like, and what you have already tried.
Height, wrist-to-floor, hand size, and a look at your current clubs on the bench.
Real swings with a launch monitor while Walt or Priya changes one thing at a time.
A written spec sheet with every number. Buy here, buy elsewhere, or sleep on it.
I walked in expecting a hard sell and left with a bag of grips and a spec sheet. Two months later I came back and had Walt build the irons. Fair prices and no games.
Priya spent forty minutes on my putter and told me my old one was almost right. She shortened it half an inch. I have been rolling it better ever since.
My dad was fitted here in 1996. I brought my son last spring. Same stool, same bench, same patience.
Most of our regulars live within twenty minutes of the shop.
